2021 Yukon African Music Festival

TELIYA International Society hosted an incredible African Music Festival at the Kwanlin Dun Cultural Centre on August 22, 2021.

Performance for the event came from legendary musicians and groups, such as: the South Africa born Grammy Award Winner Maju Maru Dlala from Vancouver, DJ Melody Neimann who was Jojo in “Sonic the Hedgehog” from British Columbia, Rima Chammas from Calgary, Augustus and Proscenium Band from Yukon, Roxx Hunter and King Swordfish band, and Leonard Boniface.

Others included a dance and singer from Vancouver – N’nato, KG Dance Group, Brian Quaye – Orisomi and the Band a Ghanaian based in Calgary, and Momo Soro from Ivory Coast who resides in Montreal.

Kongo King made the event a highlight with his epic performances.

Presentations, workshops, live music, kids arts & craft booth, drumming and dancing made the event one to be remembered. Photos below are a witness to this! We can’t wait for the 2022 event.
